THE AUSTRALIAN SOCIETY FOR CONTINENTAL PHILOSOPHY (ASCP) 
ANNUAL CONFERENCE 2005: The Politics of Being

15-17 June 2005
School of Philosophy at the University of New South Wales, Sydney,
Australia

Offers of papers are invited from researchers in the field of
Continental Philosophy. The theme for the conference in 2005 will be
"The Politics of Being." Related topics for discussion include:
Political exclusion and violence; cosmopolitanism and hospitality;
diversity and impossible community; ontology of war; race and the
politics of identity; becoming responsible; justice and the rights of
beings; forms of life and the concept of the human; technoscience and
biopolitics; politics and ethics of the posthuman; immanence; human and
animal; temporality and the politics of being.

Confirmed Keynote Speakers: 
Robert Bernasconi, Wendy Brown, Judith Butler, Eugene Holland

Submission details:
Individual papers: Title and 300-500 word abstract for papers of 30 mins
reading time
Panels: 3 speakers (20 mins each); 300 word abstract for the panel plus
up to 300 words for each paper.

Submissions can be sent by e-mail attachment to: ascp at unsw.edu.au

Closing date for submissions: 31 January 2005. 
But for those who require confirmation of acceptance before that date in
order to secure funding, please request this on your submission.
