> 4 trillion dollars has vanished into thin air from the US dot coms
during the past year. This is (get this) more than 2
1/2 times Australian GDP or the entire Australian federal budget for the
next 33 years! The other is that Labor is more popular in Australia now
than in any time since the early 70's. Perhaps this puts a bit of a new
spin on 'globalisation' ...
how exactly does this put a new spin on globalisation? are we to read a
general swing

as an expression of local discontent over international issues? or of
local discontent over the local application of international forces? and
is the ALP any less prone to e-rhapsody than the Liberals? (e.g.
Beazley's UAO fantasy) perhaps more to the point for our purposes -
should / will the Australian polity ever (in our lifetimes) vote on
technology policy? if so, what aspects of it?
isn't a vote for either Party > a vote for Packer-Murdoch > a vote for
retrograde technology policy?
and has anyone done any detective work on the specifics of Telstra under
(a future)Labour?
