I'm just finding out about the different types of lists and
discussions on e-lists and blogs. Anna, I found your reading of
list dynamics fascinating, especially in the context of Stephen's
ideas on the pacing and diversity of content that keeps lists dynamic.

Is the utilisation of different 'civic' means of electronic
communication (forums, elists, blogs) a selection criteria for
audience type, participation and social/ structural dynamics (such as
tempo)?

It makes me wonder about how interest turns into public action? Or
is it a question of ratios? How many voyuers does it take before
action crystalises? Or is it more a matter of chance, content and
specific appeal. Would you offer opinions on a hot topic that is not
directly in your way just because it looks to be where the action is
happening?

I'd be interested to know of you thoughts on these ideas.
