In Indonesia, a national commission investigating the killing of
the Papuan independence leader, Theys Eluay, has named three more
soldiers as suspects.
The disclosure came as the commission submitted its report to
President Megawati Sukarnoputri.
It has already named three officers as suspects. They have been
detained and are now being questioned by Indonesian military
police.
The commission's head said the three new suspects were
non-commissioned officers. Their names are due to be made public
on Wednesday. Mr Eluay was found dead in November after attending
a dinner with the Kopassas special forces unit.
The case fuelled widespread anger among independence supporters
in Papua the province formerly known as Irian Jaya.
