CALL FOR NOMINATIONS - OPENChannel Board of Directors.

 Dear all, 
 OPENChannel is currently seeking nominations for its
Board of Directors.  The deadline for nominations is
5pm Friday April 15th (TOMORROW!). 
 We are seeking individuals with energy, skills and
experience in the areas of Financial Management,
Business Management, Fundraising, Marketing,
Communications and Screen Production to join the board
in leading OPENChannel into its next phase of
development.  Nominations from individuals with
expertise in new media production would particularly
be welcomed. 
 Film Victoria recently announced an increase in
organisational funding to OPENChannel for 2005, to
$134,000  (from $47,000 in 2004).  This increase will
allow OPENChannel to step forward with confidence and
implement a number key initiatives which will further
assist the development of screen culture in Victoria. 
This is a very positive time to join OPENChannel's
Board of Management and contribute to this process.  
The position of Director or Office Bearer on the Board
of OPENChannel Cooperative and OPENChannel Productions
is voluntary.  Directors do not receive fees or
remuneration. OPENChannel is a not for profit and
registered charitable organisation. 
 There will be a total of four positions on the Board
open for nominations at the upcoming AGM on Monday May
9th.  At present there are two current serving Board
Members who wish to re-nominate for the Board.  They
are; Shane Thomas (Treasurer) and Storrm Bowman
Director
  A nomination form is attached. Nominations forms are
also available from the OPENChannel office.   Please

request a nomination form. 
 Those interested in nominating can discuss this with
OPENChannel's Business Manager by calling 0402 842

 To nominate as a Director you must hold a current
financial OPENChannel membership, provide a nomination
form signed by two OPENChannel  Members and also
provide details of your qualifications and experience.
Election of Board Members will take place at the AGM
and will be held in accordance with the Co-operatives
Act 1996 (Victoria). 
 NOMINATION DEADLINE - 5PM FRIDAY APRIL 15TH, 2005.
The signed nomination form must be returned to
OPENChannel no later than 5pm Friday April 15th,
2005.  Nominations received after this date will not
be accepted. 
 NOTICE OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 2005 - OPENChannel
Co-operative. 
 The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of OPENChannel
Co-operative Ltd will take place at 7pm on Monday 9th
May, 2005 in the OPENChannel Studio.

 The AGM will include the election of members of the
OPENChannel Board of Directors. All members are
eligible to attend the AGM, nominate and vote in the
election of the Board of Directors.
 
 Eight directors are elected for a two year term, with
elections being held for half of the board positions
each year.
