Dear Listmembers,
I am not completely sure if the fibreculture list is the right place to post my
request. Who not dares will never know.
Currently I am evaluating topics fo my Master thesis to conclude an MBA in Media
and Communication at University of St Gallen in Switzerland.
I spent several years in Journalism, Internet business and activism and have a
degree in media and social sciences.
During endless sessions and workshops on the business potential of any kind of
WiFi / WLAN applications or services I got the impression that so far no
sustainable businessmodel is known. I see this as an opportunity; the real value
proposition of this technology is in the the non-profit to low profit zone.
WLAN is media for civil initiatives, neighborhood TV, citizen networks, tbc
Out there is a lot of activism - and I want to add some academic thoughts to it,
and as well explore the possibilities of sustainable models to selffinance the
activities.
It is not easy to formulate some ad hoc hypothesis in order to explorfe the
scientific depth of this topic.
This is the reason I am adressing myself to this distinguished circle of
researchers:
Perhaps you can help me out either with contacts to researcher with specialty in
this field, publications articles or so on.
