Here in Mozambique there is commercial wireless network operating for businesses, I know the owner, they are in other African countries as well and it seems to be a very commercial business. I enquired about using it but they wanted $600 US to set me up (I would love to use it and not pay for this) and $100 per month server access fees so maybe there are commercial opportunities in some places. I can put you in contact with them if you want to find out more. I for one am exploring the rhetoric and logig of Open Source for my thesis - looking at new forms of value and "IP" and I too hope that wireless would or does prove to be beyond commwerce. Any ideas or people who want to discuss this stuff here or off list are welcome.
Gotta run now
Martin
