Study finds mobile phones may be a danger
Research carried out in Finland into the safety of mobile phones has
concluded that they may affect the health of users.
The two-year study suggests even low-level emissions from mobile phones
causes changes in the blood-brain barrier which stops harmful substances in
blood from entering the brain.
It found exposure caused the cells in blood vessel walls to shrink, which
enabled molecules to pass into brain tissue.
It is the first time that scientists have looked at the effects of mobile
phone radiation on human cells rather than those of rats.
The author of the study says more research is needed to determine the
seriousness of the finding.
