The struggle of West Papua to reset international
recognition on its former political status as Non-Governing Territory is
entering its 3rd stage - the stage of Interest Diplomacy.
The 1st stage of our struggle - the Physical Resistance -
commenced from the second half of the 1960s, and lasted well into 1997
without any meaningful result in terms of international support,
especially from those who had directly involved in the creation of the
case.
Since 1998, a new approach of Legal Diplomacy that has
constituted the 2nd stage of the struggle, was applied, where legal
aspects of this case are surveyed and developed - that has eventually
serve the Papuans as Legal Platform. Certain nations are beginning
to realize each respective mistakes, made by their former leaders in the
past that had intentionally contributed to the efforts of
territorial annexation of West Papua by Indonesia.
We know very well that the current nightmarish fate facing West Papuans
is a direct consequence of irresponsible political decisions made by
certain world leaders in the past - solely for their national economic and
political interests - for which, the current stage of Interest
Diplomacy is anticipatively directed.
This title becomes the 3rd in the "West Papua" serial
- supplementary to two previous titles: 'West Papua: From
Colonization to Recolonization' (Political History - 1998) and 'West
Papua: A Scandal In The UN Decolonization History (Legal Cover -
1999) currently in world-wide circulation.
Although reflecting pure Papuan perception towards the case, parts of
the entire scenario in this article were taken from a wide variety of
invaluable sources and references - simply inter-connected and compiled in
a 'self-revelatory' order - that eventually will lead every
reader to understand how special interest groups - on behalf of and
or for the sake of international interests - had conspiratively thwarted
West Papuan independence.
- In terms of present and future Global Interests..
'The Case We Knew' has cost the Papuans every single
sacrifice - be it LIFE, BLOOD, SWEAT, TEAR and DIGNITY - 'The Case
We Knew' has taught the Papuans to perceive with more better and
sharper view - and, from now on learn to RESPECT only those who help -
NOT those who have had exploited the country without any consideration as
to its people's dues.
