Indonesia - OCHA Consolidated Situation Report No. 77

5. PAPUA

General Situation

Papua provincial legislators supported the idea of Governor Solossa to establish a human rights court in Papua in response to the growing pressure and demand of the people.

The Cendrawasih Pos reported that two people were killed in the Wamena Airport following a rally demanding the compensation payment of the land where the airport is located. Some 500 people led by Gabriel Lagoan, a Wamena
district legislator, picketed the airport until Thursday (23 May).
