A. WHAT WE SHOULD DO RIGHT NOW:

1. Ring the Commanders of the Army and Police of West Papua and tell them that the arrest of Benny Wenda is illegal, an act of terror by the state.

2. Tell them that the investigation into the murder of Theys Eluay is not yet completed, and this arrest makes it clear to the International community that Indonesia is a state-terorrist, which like to solve every single problem with acts of terror.

3. Press the EU and the USA to interfere against state-terrorism in West Papua.

4. Invite the UN Special Rapporteur on Torture, or Indigenous Peoples or Human Rights as soon as possible.

B. WHAT THE KOTEKA PEOPLE ARE DOING RIGHT NOW:

Koteka People's decision last night all over West Papua highlands and inlands is that:

1. They will peacefully (non-violently) occupy the Papua Parliament Building until Benny Wenda is released;

2. Koteka people will peacefully occupy some of the Local parliament buildings accros the highlands of West Papua.

3. If this does not work, all Koteka people will come hand-in-hand and close down Freeport MacMoRan, Gold & Copper Inc until the political problem in West Papua is resolved by the USA, the UN, the Netherlands and Indonesia.

Senin tgl. [MONDAY) 10 Juni 2002. 

Mulai hari minggu kemari 80 org Koteka mendatangi rumah Kapolda. Setelah negoisasi utk aksi damai pada hari ini di Polda, maka kurang lebih 500 org (masa) masyarakat lani dari jpr&stn mendatangi kapolda dengan membawa Statement yang berisi 7 tuntutan,antara lain: 

[SINCE SUNDAY (YESTERDAY) 80 MEMBERS OF KOTEKA TRIBAL ASSEMBLY WENT TO MEET THE POLICE COMMANDER FOR PAPUA (KAPOLDA). AFTER NEGOTIATIONS BETWEEN THEM, TODAY, 10 JUNE 2002, ABOUT 500 PEOPLE FROM KOTEKA PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN NUMBAY AND SENTANI CAME TO KAPOLDA WITH SEVEN DEMANDS. TWO OF THEM ARE AS FOLLOWS:]

1. Usaha penangkapan & penahanan tehdp Ketua Demmak diperlakukan tidak manusiawi yaitu ditangkap tanpa surat penangkapan yg resmi saat itu, ditarik dan di ikat. Serta menuduh terlibat dalam kasus Abepura, rapat gelap yg adalah usaha intelijen untuk menjebak Benny Wenda. 

[THE EFFORT OF ARREST AND DETAIN OF THE CHAIR OF DEMMAK IS INHUMAN, ARRESTED WITHOUT ANY OFFICIAL LETTER OF ORDER, HE WAS DRAGGED AND TIED. HE WAS ACCUSED WITHOUT PROOFS BEING INVOLVED IN BLOODY ABEPURA INCIDENT (6-7 DECEMBER 2000), SECRET MEETINGS TO ATTACK THE ARMY POSTS AND OTHERS ARE ALL MANIPULATIONS OF THE INDONESIAN INTELLIGENCE TO ARREST BENNY WENDA.]

2. Tuduhan-tuduhan yang disampaikan kepada sdr. Benny Wenda adalah rekayasa politik. Kebenarannya sama sekali tidak ada. dstrsnya.

[ALL CHARGES AGAINST BENNY WENDA ARE PURELY POLITICAL MANIPULATIONS. NO TRUTH UNDERLIES ALL CHARGES.]
